A message from the Principal 21/05/2024
As we approach the end of this term, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to our Year 11 students for making such a positive start to their GCSEs. Their hard work and dedication have been evident, and we are immensely proud of their achievements so far. This strong beginning sets a promising tone for their continued success, and we urge them to balance their time over the holiday between revising and recovering to finish strong!

Dear Parents and carers,
As we approach the end of this term, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to our Year 11 students for making such a positive start to their GCSEs. Their hard work and dedication have been evident, and we are immensely proud of their achievements so far. This strong beginning sets a promising tone for their continued success, and we urge them to balance their time over the holiday between revising and recovering to finish strong!
Looking ahead, I would also like to commend our Year 10 students who put themselves forward with maturity for our student leadership positions. They have shown great responsibility and will be stepping up as role models within our school community from after half-term.
Our student body have now elected next year’s senior student leaders from among Year 10. These students have demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities, and I am confident they will excel in their new roles, contributing positively to our school environment. The successful candidates will be announced in school shortly.
Following tradition, and in light of them becoming the role models in school, Year 10 students will be permitted to wear white shirts after half-term. If this causes any inconvenience, they may continue wearing their blue shirts for the remainder of the year but must be in white shirts for September.
On Friday 24th May Year 11 students will have the opportunity to get their shirts signed by their peers. We request that students bring a spare shirt for this purpose. The day’s schedule includes normal attendance in Lessons 1 and 2 (except for those in the French Writing Exam), followed by shirt signing and celebratory activities in the main hall. Year 11 students will finish early between 11:30am and 11:45am and exit through the main entrance. All other students will remain in school till the end of the day at 3:10pm.
Along with the rest of the school, all Year 11 students are expected to return to school on Monday 3rd June. For lessons that have finished all their exams they are expected to bring independent revision materials and remain in all lessons.
Thank you for your ongoing support and encouragement. We wish you all a restful and enjoyable break.
Yours faithfully,
Mr McNaughton
Principal
