School Closure for inclement weather day 2

RE: School Closure for inclement weather Following a review of the current weather conditions, all Learning Community Trust Schools will remain partially closed tomorrow. In reaching this decision, I would like to refer to the points outlined in the communication yesterday. The following factors are taken into consideration: • Weighing up the benefits of remaining open against the risks to vulnerable students and staff. • Unsafe temperatures in parts of the school building, and the resulting impact this is having on catering and other essential services. • Other schools and childcare settings are also closing, and many staff need to make arrangements for their own children.

Dear Parents/Carers,

RE: School Closure for inclement weather

Following a review of the current weather conditions, all Learning Community Trust Schools will remain partially closed tomorrow. In reaching this decision, I would like to refer to the points outlined in the communication yesterday. The following factors are taken into consideration:

  • Weighing up the benefits of remaining open against the risks to vulnerable students and staff.
  • Unsafe temperatures in parts of the school building, and the resulting impact this is having on catering and other essential services.
  • Other schools and childcare settings are also closing, and many staff need to make arrangements for their own children.

To ensure continuity of learning, remote learning will continue to be provided for all students in line with their scheduled timetable. The timings of the sessions are as follows:

  • Lesson 1 – 9.15am – 10.15am: Students to complete PD work set via satchel one.
  • Lesson 2 – 10.15 – 11.15am

BREAKTIME

  • Lesson 3 – 11.35am – 12.35pm
  • Lesson 4 – 12.35pm – 1.35pm

LUNCHTIME

  • Lesson 5 – 2.10pm – 3.10pm

Students should access their lessons and resources through the Microsoft Teams platform. For the majority of lessons, these will include live input from the Teacher. Staff will be available to support learning throughout the day.

Please reassure your child that, given the short notice, they should not worry if they are unable to access the work immediately or they experience any technical difficulties. Our Staff will be understanding and supportive.

Whilst we recognise the disruption that a closure causes for families, the safety of our school community must remain our highest priority. I would therefore like to apologise for any inconvenience this decision may cause and thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Should this present challenges, we will remain open as an emergency provision for students that meet the criteria below. The provision will match the schedule above. The students will be provided with ICT access so that they can attend their online lessons in school. The criteria for attendance includes:

    • Vulnerable students (EHCP/LAC/Children with a Social Worker)
    • Students who do not have access to remote learning from home

Please complete the form by 7pm on 25/06 if you require your child to attend the emergency provision:

Vulnerable Students - School Closure Friday 26/6/26 – Fill in form

Please note that the canteen will be closed therefore we ask that students that are attending are provided with a packed lunch and water bottle. If your child is in receipt of free school meals, please indicate on the form that you would like lunch to be provided.

We hope that everyone remains safe, particularly around open water and in direct sunlight.

We expect that the school will open as normal on Monday 29th June.

Thank you once again for your ongoing support.

Yours sincerely

Mrs S Barton

Principal
