Welcome Back from Principal January 2024

We are delighted to be welcoming students back to school tomorrow morning at 8.40am. Please ensure they arrive promptly to school, recommended 8.35am, and a reminder that those in Year 7 to Year 9 enter through the back gate.

Good afternoon,

We are delighted to be welcoming students back to school tomorrow morning at 8.40am. Please ensure they arrive promptly to school, recommended 8.35am, and a reminder that those in Year 7 to Year 9 enter through the back gate.

As a student of Charlton School, we expect your child to wear their uniform with pride and we are providing some key reminders about uniform expectations in this email. Please be aware that uniform is checked upon entry to school and by class teachers throughout the day. If your child does not have the correct uniform, they will be issued with a blue letter to take home which gives you 24 hours to resolve the issue, if there is a serious issue with a child’s uniform then we will contact home immediately to arrange for them to change as quickly as possible, this may include asking you to bring in items from home or to seek permission for your child to go home to change. We also have the uniform bank to support families and can supply limited items on request. Please contact your child’s pastoral manager if you require support with sourcing any uniform items. If there is a temporary unavoidable issue with your child’s uniform, please send them into school with a signed note or email their pastoral manager which will avoid a uniform concern log.

Uniform concern logs can be viewed by parents by accessing the My Child at School website/app:

https://www.mychildatschool.com/MCAS/MCSParentLogin. The website/app can also be used to track House Points, sanctions (including C1’s, C2’s, BRR and Homework Concerns), your child’s academic progress and key messages regarding attendance and attitude to learning. We strongly advise you gain access to this and review it regularly to enable you to work alongside us from home.
